WELCOME TO THE KIMCHI MASTER COURSE.
Here are some tips to help you get the most out of The Kimchi Master Course.
1. WATCH THE VIDEO LESSONS IN ORDER
The Kimchi Master Course is created to be viewed in chronological order. Chapters 1 and 2 cover the core principals of kimchi making and fermentation. This will provide you with a solid understanding of the concept of fermentation & kimchi making before you start exploring your own kimchi making adventure in chapter 4.
That being said, if you cannot resist your urge to revive the ancient art of fermentation by making kimchi immediately, feel free to watch your choice of recipe videos first. Then come back to chapters 1 & 2 for more in-depth learning about fermentation and kimchi making. If you do choose to just dive in, I recommend trying chapter 4-6, the water kimchi lesson, first. The recipes only takes 10 minutes to make kimchi with the ingredients that you probably already have in your refrigerator. You will be sure to have super delicious kimchi to enjoy right away before you even start learning about the wonderful world of fermentation in Chapter 1.
2. REFERENCE THE SHOW NOTES
All the videos come with show notes. They are posted right below the video on each page. The show notes include the written recipes with the exact measurements of ingredients. They also include the resources mentioned in the video, so be sure to check them out.
3. USE THE FAQ/TROUBLESHOOTING PAGE
If questions arise when making and fermenting kimchi, read the FAQ / Troubleshooting page in chapter 6. It has been created by compiling the frequently asked questions and comments from the Hungry Gopher website. It also addresses many comments and questions that have been posted on YouTube in response to my kimchi video recipes. You are likely to find answers to your questions in these sections.
4. UTILIZE THE RESOURCE PAGE
The Resource page has my online shopping recommendations for some hard-to-find seasoning ingredients for kimchi. If you don’t have a Korean grocery near you, online shopping can be an excellent source to secure the ingredients you need.
